Julian Driver - Vice Chair
Julian’s first experience with bpha was at a summer roadshow where he was impressed to see the organisation bringing services to neighbourhoods and staff engaging with residents. Since then he has many chances to get involved with bpha and has always found staff to be approachable and willing to listen. As a member of the group, Julian is keen to continue working with an organisation that wants to improve through consultation with residents and he will use his past experience as a teacher and head of department to engage with both other residents and bpha.

Val Cromwell
Val has been involved with bpha since 2007 when she took part in the mystery shopping programme. Finding that she enjoyed helping to improve services for residents, she joined the repairs monitoring service in 2008 and then took part in the search for new insurers in 2009. Having been a resident for almost 10 years, Val has an excellent understanding of residents’ needs. Her previous experience evaluating and reporting in a wide variety of systems means she has had plenty of practice identifying areas for improvement and she now uses those skills to benefit all bpha residents.

Melanie Eagle
Melanie has been involved with her local community organisation since first becoming a bpha resident around five years ago and has seen first-hand the differences levels of service bpha sometimes provides. Wishing to change the ‘us’ and ‘them’ situation she perceived amongst residents, Melanie applied to join the resident scrutiny and improvement group when it was advertised in the local paper. Since joining she has increased her understanding of how bpha works and uses this knowledge to improve services for everyone. With previous roles working amongst financial traders, Melanie has a lot of experience of seeing all viewpoints and promoting tolerance amongst different people.

Sylvia Peacock
Sylvia first got involved with bpha when she became part of a recycling street challenge. After having a great time on this project, she realised that being involved could help her to meet a lot of people and make a big difference in their lives. She has also found it personally rewarding, especially being given the opportunity to receive training and grow in confidence. As a member of the resident scrutiny and improvement group, Sylvia is looking forward to seeing the suggestions and ideas for improvements at bpha make a difference to the services residents receive and she hopes to continue working with the organisation for many years to come.
