Have you been a victim of hate crime? If so, we’re here to help you. Our Anti-Social Behaviour Team is working with Stop Hate UK, the leading hate crime awareness raising and recording charity, to give independent support to anyone who has been affected.
Stop Hate UK offers a secure, anonymous, confidential and free helpline for anyone who has experienced or witnessed a hate crime. An operator will respond to you, assess your situation, record details, and respond to your immediate needs, whether offering someone to talk to or advising what can be done. All calls are recorded and logged, and if you have given consent for your details to be shared, your information will be passed to the Hate Crime Unit at Bedfordshire police. If you don’t want your name passed along, the crime is still reported to the police so that it can be recorded. We would like to encourage anyone who has experienced a hate crime to let the police investigate.
You can also call Stop Hate UK at any time without a referral if you need reassurance, to discuss an existing case, or to submit further complaints. The Stop Hate UK service is also available in languages other than English if needed.
