How we help 

The money advice service is able to offer help in a variety of ways.

Income maximisation – benefit checks, tax code checks, assists with benefit appeals.

If you would like to see if you are entitled to any benefits you can use this link and use a free benefit calculator.

Negotiates with priority creditors – bpha for rent, mortgage arrears in the case of shared ownership, council tax debts due to local authority or bailiff, CSA, car HP, current utility providers, and benefit overpayments.

Negotiates with non-priority creditors – unsecured loans, credit cards, catalogues, door step lenders, rent arrears due to previous landlord, overdrafts, personal loans i.e. doorstep lenders, catalogues, store cards, former utility suppliers, etc.

Identifies benefit entitlement – help you to gain access to benefits you may be entitled to.

Advocacy at appeals – we can help you to appeal negative benefit decisions and will represent and support you at these appeals.
