A number of training and workshop opportunities are available to residents involved with bpha. These may be on a national, regional, county or local basis with varying levels of costs attached to each. Staff must always be aware of the overall cost of any resident attending training and the benefits of this to bpha.

bpha will pay an incentive in the form of high street shopping vouchers for residents to attend bpha run courses and conferences. This is usually £10 for up to 4 hours and £20 for anything above that.

The resident must complete a resident development form with the member of staff recommending the training. This will make the resident aware that they may be required to give feedback to bpha either to an individual or to a group of staff or a community group on the learning outcomes of their training. 

bpha will pay a maximum of a £300 package per resident for a one day event and £500 package for a residential event.

Please note: All residents who volunteer to take part in any of bpha resident involvement activities for which they receive an incentive are expected to complete agreed tasks to a satisfactory level. bpha staff reserve the right to withhold payment if the lead officer is dissatisfied with standard of the resident participation. This rule only applies where the resident/s concerned have received training for the tasks they have agreed to complete. 

There is no agreed time limit in which an incentive will be paid to residents, but bpha will strive to send the incentive within 28 days of the completion of the task or event for which the incentive is being paid.
