Former Debts

If you owe rent arrears or any other debts to bpha, a council or any other social landlord, you will have a low priority for housing unless you can show that the debt has arisen through circumstances beyond your control.

You will have to make an arrangement to pay the debt Normally, your application will remain in a low priority Band for twelve months, unless there are exceptional circumstances. In any case you must keep to the arrangement to pay for at least six months before we will review your application.  You should contact us at the end of the six month period and request a review. Your application will be reviewed by a housing manager.
