Homeowners

If you require any other type of housing, the following restrictions apply:

• If you own, or part-own, or have ownership rights to a property in the UK or abroad you will have a low priority for housing and we are not likely to offer you a tenancy.  However, we have discretion to help you if your property is unsuitable for you because of severe medical needs or disability.  We would take into account whether your property could be adapted to meet your needs, and whether this was affordable for you.

• If you have sold a property, we will need evidence of how much you received from the sale.  If you have received enough equity to enable you to buy another home, with or without a mortgage, you will have a low priority and we are unlikely to offer you a tenancy.  We will take into account the size and type of property you need for your household as well as current house prices in making our decision.
