bpha in villages 

Biddenham
Biddenham is approximately four miles from Bedford. bpha has one bedroom flats here. The bus service is about every hour, which runs between Bedford and Northampton.

The village has its own lower and upper schools. The village hall is the hub of the village; there are coffee mornings, cubs/brownies/scouts/guides and a playgroup.

There is a cricket club, mobile library and various other activities take place in the local pub e.g. darts, pool, and quizzes where they also serve meals.

The nearest shop is in Bedford or in Bromham. The village does not have a doctor's surgery but you can register with one in Bedford, Bromham or Great Denham.

A bus service goes from Bedford to Northampton, which is approximately every 30 minutes.

Bletsoe
bpha
has some properties in Bletsoe. They consist of one and two bedroom bungalows and two and three bedroom houses.

Bletsoe is approximately 7.3 miles from Bedford; there is a bus service which runs every two hours to Bedford (they pick up at the church and the Turn).

The village does not have any schools; the catchment area is Thurleigh Lower, Thurleigh Middle, which is approximately 2.4 miles away, and then onto Sharnbrook upper.

There is a newsagents, a pub and a church. It does not have a doctor's surgery but you can register with a doctor in Sharnbrook. The village hall plays a large part in the community with various activities taking place, tea dances, mothers' and toddlers' and line dancing to name but a few.

Bromham
Bromham village is approximately five miles from Bedford. There is a good bus service that runs between Bedford and Northampton. The village is a popular tourist area having a watermill, a nature reserve and plenty of fishing in the area. The village is quite self sufficient as it offers a range of facilities for day-to-day life.

bpha has two, three and four bedroom houses and also some one bedroom bungalows. The village has its own lower school and then children have to go to Lincroft Middle School and Sharnbrook Upper School. These are the schools within the catchment area.

There are quite a few shops in the village and there are also a couple of pubs serving meals. The doctor's surgery is within the village.

Plenty of activities take place in the village for the young and the old; it is on the route for the village library service.

Carlton
Carlton village is approximately 8.3 miles from Bedford. bpha has some one bedroom bungalows and three bedroom houses in the village.

Development over the years has been gradual so that each new cluster of houses has been absorbed into village life and the junior school, busy post office-cum-village store and two pubs continue to flourish. There is a bus service from Bedford, which is every hour during the day, but limited in the evening.

Schools are Carlton Lower, Burgoyne Middle School and then Sharnbrook Upper. There is school transport provided.

The village has a church where a lot of the community activities are organised.

There is no doctor's surgery at the village. The nearest surgery can be found in Harrold.

Clapham
Clapham is approximately three miles from Bedford. bpha has various one, two and three bedroom flats and houses. There are also some four-bed houses.

The bus service to Clapham is very good with services running every half hour. The village has its own nursery and lower schools. The middle school is in Oakley and children then need to go to Sharnbrook.

Clapham is a thriving village as it offers lots of amenities, which include Brownies, Scouts, shops, community hall and bank.

The village has no doctor's surgery so you need to register with a GP in Bedford.

Cople
Cople is approximately seven miles from Bedford. bpha has a mixture of flats, houses and bungalows in the village. The schools that serve the village are Cople lower and middle, then older children have to travel into Bedford to attend upper schools. The bus service to Cople is 11 minutes past every hour picking up from St Paul's Square.

The village has a village hall with various activities taking place and it has a church. Tesco on Cardington Road and the Post Office in Willington are the nearest shops. The doctor's surgery is at London Road Health Centre.

Cotton End
This village is about four miles from Bedford. bpha has a total of 46 properties here. They are a mixture of one-bed bungalows, two bed flats and two and three bed houses. There is a lower school in the village. For middle and upper schools the children have to come into Bedford or travel to Shefford Samuel Whitbread School. There is a newsagent, a church, village hall and a pub. The buses run every half an hour into Bedford. The doctor's facilities are also in Bedford.

Duloe
Duloe is approximately 12 miles from Bedford and it is nearer to St Neots and Colmworth. bpha has 16 properties. They are a mixture of one-bed bungalows and two, three, and four bedroom houses.

The bus service from Bedford is only one bus per week, which is on a Thursday. The lower school is in Colmworth and the upper schools are in St Neots. The doctor's surgery is in St Neots.

Felmersham
Felmersham village is approximately seven miles from Bedford. bpha has one bed bungalows and three bed houses in the village. It shares its amenities with Radwell as they are close together.

There is a local cricket team, Brownies, Cubs, Scouts, WI club and mothers and toddlers meet in the village hall during term time and the village is visited on a regular basis by the mobile library. The newsagent in Sharnbrook delivers newspapers, and there is a daily milk delivery.

The school catchment area is Pinchmill pre-school and lower in the village, then onto Lincroft middle in Oakley and Sharnbrook Upper. There is a school bus service.

The bus service into Bedford for shopping etc is every two hours leaving from the church.

The nearest shop is in Sharnbrook where there are also Post Office facilities, you can also access Post Office facilities at Milton Ernest garden centre but they have limited opening times. There is a doctor's surgery in Sharnbrook.

Great Barford
Great Barford is approximately six miles from Bedford and it is a popular spot for fishing, picnics and boating. The bus service runs between Cambridge and Bedford and you can catch a bus every 60 minutes in the village.

bpha has a mixture of two and three-bed houses to rent and we also have some one and two-bedroom bungalows. The schools for children are Great Barford Lower, Alban Middle and Sandy Upper.

There is a store in the village on the High Street and a supermarket at Goldington Road in Bedford. The village also has its own doctor's surgery. There are plenty of activities taking place in the village such as basketball, chess, and computer club.

The village also has its own church; it is a very lively village with lots going on to suit all ages.

Harrold
Harrold is approximately nine miles from Bedford. bpha has bungalows, flats, and houses. These consist of bungalows up to two bedrooms, one bed flats and two, three and four bedroom houses. Estate agents describe Harrold as 'a much sought after village' and indeed it is a very pleasant and attractive place

The village has a newsagents and a Co-op shop. The village hall and the church are the hub of the village as there are plenty of activities for the young and old alike. The doctor's surgery is in Peaches Close.

The village has a lower school and the middle school is Priory and upper is Sharnbrook.

The bus service runs every hour to Bedford.

Milton Ernest
Milton Ernest is approximately six miles from Bedford. bpha has properties here, which consist of one and two-bed bungalows and two or three-bed houses.

The village has a garden centre which houses the Post Office. There are also two pubs, a village hall and a church.

The bus to Bedford is about every two hours and picks up at the Queens Head Hotel.

The catchment schools are Milton Ernest Lower, Priory Middle and Sharnbrook Upper. There is no doctor's surgery in the village.

Oakley
Oakley is approximately four miles from Bedford town centre. bpha has one-bed bungalows and three-bed houses in the village. There is a good bus service that runs through the village to Bedford every 20 minutes.

Children starting school can attend Oakley lower, and then move onto Lincroft and Sharnbrook as these are in the catchment area for Oakley.

The village has a community centre and a church. There are a lot of village amenities i.e. Cubs, Scouts, playgroup, WI, football, Brownies, Guides and a gardening club to name but a few.

There is a doctor's surgery in the village at The Old School House in Lovell Road.

Odell
This village is approximately seven miles from Bedford and 10 miles from Wellingborough. The bus service is every two hours into Bedford. bpha has a total of 11 properties here. They consist of one-bed bungalows, one-bed flats and two three-bedroom houses.

The schools that serve the village are Harrold Lower, Priory Middle and Sharnbrook Upper. There is a church, village hall and a pub in the village. The nearest Post Office is in Sharnbrook and the nearest shops are in Harrold or Carlton.

Pavenham
This village is approximately six miles from Bedford. bpha has 22 properties here. They consist of one and two bedroom bungalows, a few one bed flats and some two and three bedroom houses.

The schools that the village uses are Pinchmill lower, Lincroft middle and Sharnbrook upper. The village has a tennis club and a golf club. There is also a church in the village. If you require a doctor, the nearest surgery is in Harrold or Oakley. The bus service from Bedford is every two hours at approximately quarter past each hour until early evening. There is a hub of activities taking place at the village hall in Harrold.

Poddington
bpha
has some two and three-bed properties and some one bed bungalows in Poddington. It is situated about three miles from Rushden and 15 miles from Bedford.

Schools that serve the village are the lower school in Harrold and then children can go to Priory and then onto Sharnbrook Upper.

The village has a garden centre church and cricket club. The nearest doctor's surgery is in Rushden or Sharnbrook.

Buses run every two hours to Bedford or Rushden from outside the church.

Radwell
Radwell has a village green, which is triangular in shape with thatched cottages on two sides and the Swan Pub, an ideal spot to have a summer drink.

There are 82 homes in Radwell, making it a relatively small village and it is often referred to as a hamlet. Many of the properties are in Moor End most of which are modern bungalows and houses with a few Victorian houses and older stone and brick cottages.

bpha has only one three bedroom house in Radwell. The village shares a lot of its amenities with Felmersham.

The buses are the same as the ones leaving Felmersham and all the local amenities and social facilities apply to both. See Felmersham.

Ravensden
Ravensden is approximately six miles from the centre of Bedford. bpha has some one and two bed bungalows, and there are also some two and three bed houses.

The village has a store, which doubles up as a Post Office. Children can attend lower school in Renhold and then go to schools in Bedford. The bus service is provided by Cedar Coaches.

Renhold
Renhold is three miles from the centre of Bedford. bpha has one three bed house and a four bed house. The village has its own lower school and then children have to come into Bedford. The village has its own Church and village hall where there is a range of activities taking place, including a toddlers' group. There are three local shops, which stock a range of supplies. The village has its own doctor's surgery.

Roxton
The village is approximately seven miles from Bedford and the bus service is every hour from Bedford. bpha has a total of 54 properties here, some one and two bed bungalows, also a few two bed houses and some three bed houses. Roxton has a garden centre/pet centre and Post Office. There is a lower school in the village that feeds into middle and upper schools in Great Barford and Sandy.

Riseley 
The village is approximately eight miles from Bedford, five from Rushden and three from Sharnbrook, and bpha has both houses and bungalows there.

The bus service to the village is very limited and there are no buses on a Sunday or after early evening.  More information about these services can be obtained from Cedar Coaches.

Schools that serve the village are Sharnbrook Upper School, Margaret Beaufort Middle, Riseley, and Riseley Lower School.

Riseley has a general store in the High Street and a church. There are a large number of village shops in Sharnbrook and a full range in the market town of Rushden. You can register with a doctor at Sharnbrook, Rushden/Wymington or Kimbolton.

Priority for new homes is given to people with a Riseley connection.

Sharnbrook
Sharnbrook is a large village in the north of the county, just off the main A6 road, with the River Ouse flowing to the south. Bedford is approximately 10 miles and Rushden is eight. There is a good bus service, which picks up in various places around the village. They run into Bedford every half hour.

The village has plenty of shops, church, village hall, and pubs. It is a vibrant village with lots going on. There is a doctor's surgery

There are lower and upper schools in the village.

Stagsden
bpha properties in Stagsden consist mainly of two bed houses and one bed bungalows. Stagsden is approximately six miles from Bedford.

The bus service is every two hours to Bedford. There are no schools in the village. Lincroft, Oakley and Sharnbrook and Bromham are all in the catchment area.

The village has a church and a village hall. There are no shops in the village, the nearest is Budgens in Bromham. There is a farm shop nearby which sells meat. The nearest doctor's surgery is in Bromham or Great Denham.

Stevington
Stevington is a parish in the county of Bedfordshire. With a population of about 670, it lies six miles north west of the borough of Bedford in the picturesque valley of the River Great Ouse.

There is a church, a Baptist chapel, two pubs serving food and real ale, a Post Office, a community shop staffed by a willing band of volunteers plus other local amenities including a pre-school nursery.

Social activities abound with a thriving social centre, football and cricket teams and Women's Institute to name but a few. bpha has three one bed flats and four three bed houses in this locality.

Thurleigh
bpha
has a selection of one bed and two bed flats, some two and three bedroom houses and one and two bedroom bungalows in the village. It is approximately eight miles from Bedford. The village has its own lower school but then children have to travel to Margaret Beaufort in Riseley for middle school facilities and to Sharnbrook for upper School.

The nearest doctor's surgery is in Sharnbrook. The village does have a church and a village hall, which is used for various activities and is the hub of the village. There is also a pub.

There is one shop, which is a newsagent/Post Office, but you will need to check opening times as it may only open for short periods at the weekend

You can get a bus to Bedford, Milton Keynes, Northampton and St Neots from Thurleigh but it is not a frequent service. You can check with Cedar Coaches Bedford for a timetable.

Turvey
Turvey is about 12 miles from Bedford. bpha has some two and three bedroom houses and a mixture of one and two bedroom bungalows in the village.

There is the lower school in the village, middle school at Harrold and upper school at Sharnbrook. The village has local shops including a Post Office; there is a doctor's surgery at the village. There is also a community centre with various activities taking place. The village also has its own pub and church.

The bus service to the village consists of two buses per hour, which run between Northampton and Bedford.

Wilstead
Wilstead is approximately four miles from Bedford, with a good bus service into the town available. It has a local shop/Post Office, church and garden centre.

bpha owns a mixture of one bedroom bungalows and two and three bedroom houses.

The village benefits from a pub restaurant with an Express Holiday Inn only one mile outside the village. It has good links via the Bedford bypass, with a retail park 1.5 miles from the village itself.

The local schools are Wilstead Lower School, Abbey Middle School and John Bunyan Upper School.

Wymington
bpha has 44 properties in this locality mainly consisting of two and three bedroom houses. The village is approximately 12 miles from Bedford. There are no local shops in the village, the nearest are in either Rushden or Sharnbrook. The upper school is in Sharnbrook, the middle school in Harrold and the lower school in Wymington. There is a bus, which runs infrequently going to Bedford or Kettering via Rushden.
