Alison Baggott has been appointed to the new post of executive director of neighbourhoods and communities at bpha.
In the new role Alison, who joined bpha in 2002 as head of supported housing, will lead bpha's housing management, community development, supported housing and property services teams.
The role has been created in line with bpha's new corporate purpose to "create thriving communities where everyone feels proud to live".
Alison said: "I am delighted to be taking up this new position at an exciting time for bpha, as the organisation looks to fulfil a much wider role than that of any traditional housing association.
"To achieve our objective we will be working closely with our stakeholders to help improve opportunity, independence and quality of life for all our customers.
"I look forward to overseeing the continued delivery of quality homes to our existing customers, and ensuring that new housing developments are given the support they need to become thriving and sustainable communities."
Alison has worked in housing since graduating and has previously worked for Salvation Army, English Churches and Stonham housing associations, and Methodist Homes for the Aged.
