bpha is celebrating after achieving outstanding results in an independent local government review of its Sheltered and Extra Care Housing services in Bedford.
Providers require a minimum of seven C grades but bpha achieved 4 A’s and 3 B’s, improving its results from last year by gaining two extra A’s.

The review was carried out by Supporting People, a programme that works closely with housing associations, local authorities and other support services across the UK to help improve and maintain quality of life for vulnerable people. It assesses and advises on all housing-related provisions to ensure vulnerable people can live as independently as possible.

Harpreet Chander, Retirement Services Manager, said: “I am delighted with these results and feel that they reflect our efforts to enable our residents to make more choices about how they live. We will continue to work closely with Supporting People and with our residents, their families, carers, support staff and circles of support to help residents manage their tenancy and live independently in the community.”

bpha was awarded top marks for Needs and Risks Assessment, Support Planning, Security and Health and Safety and Complaints, and good results for areas including Protection from Abuse.
