The Christmas spirit was in full force at Love's Farm when a procession of lights and carol singing on 22nd December signalled the start of the holiday season.
Organised by Love’s Farm Community Association and supported by bpha, the procession was led by residents, and saw children young and old light up the night as they journeyed with torches and lanterns around Love’s Farm before heading back to St Neots Football Club for a short carol service, led by resident curate, Sarah Gower, as well as mince pies and mulled wine!
Katie Baldwin, the bpha Community Development Officer for Love’s Farm said: “It’s great to see the community coming together like this and I know that everyone was really looking forward to this event. Two weeks beforehand, we held an event inviting children and adults to make Christmas lanterns from jars so this was a chance to see them in action.
“Since it was set up, the Love’s Farm Community Association has worked really hard and members have dedicated much free time to organise and run a range of events to bring residents together. For a new development like Love’s Farm, events like these are vital in order to establish and encourage a thriving community.”
Love’s Farm is a new community to the east of the market town of St Neots consisting of 1,410 homes. Current facilities include a multi-use games area and a children’s playground. A community centre is also planned, which will be managed by local residents. Other plans include retail units and a footbridge across to the railway station.
