When is the Warden on duty?

The Warden is usually available from 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday, except Public and Bank Holidays.

The Warden on duty will make contact with each resident every day that they are on duty either by calling on the intercom system or by personal visit. It is not necessary for the Warden to enter your home except in an emergency or unless invited.

When the Warden is off duty a Mobile Warden will visit. Mobile Wardens will visit each scheme and deal with any problems.

If you do not respond to the Wardens daily call then it may be necessary to enter your home to check that you are OK. If you do not wish the Warden or Mobile Warden to make daily contact with you, you will be asked to put this in writing to the Retirement Housing Manager.

The Warden's duties do not include the medical or day to day care of any resident, shopping or collecting pensions on a regular basis. These services may be provided by Social Services or other care providers. BUT; when a resident is temporarily sick and there are no relatives or friends living locally, the Warden may provide help for a limited period.
