What other facilities are there?

Guest Room

A guest room is available for short periods if your relatives or friends wish to visit you. This should be booked in advance through the Warden.

A small charge is made for the use of the guest room - your Warden will advise you what this is. Bed linen will be provided by the Warden.

Communal Lounge

The lounge is provided for the use of all residents for social and recreational activities or simply for you to meet other residents. You can also entertain friends and relatives in the lounge.
It is also the venue for any social events which may be organised by the Warden or the resident social club.

Laundry

All schemes have a communal laundry and are equipped with automatic washing machines and tumble dryers for the use of the residents. No additional charge is made as the cost of this is included in your rent. The Warden will show you how to use the machines.

It is important to remember that only washing powder marked "for automatic machines" should be used as other powders will cause the machine to clog up and break down. If in doubt ask the Warden who will be able to advise you.

The laundry is provided for your own personal clothes washing. If you are unable to do your own washing and someone else does it for you, please ask them to tell the Warden.

Communal Kitchen

The kitchen are can be used by all residents to make light refreshments when using the lounge. The kitchen will also be used when social activities are organised in the lounge.

Gardens

The communal gardens are for the use and benefit of all residents. BPHA maintains the gardens but if you are interested in doing some gardening yourself then please see the Warden who may be able to allocate a plot for you to tend.

Window Cleaning

bpha employs window cleaners to keep the windows clean outside and the communal areas clean. You are responsible for keeping windows inside and outside your own home clean.

Refuse

Dustbins are provided at a convenient place. You should wrap all rubbish and help to keep this area clean and tidy.
