Mutual Exchanges

If you are already a tenant but would like to swap your home, bpha offers a free and simple way of doing this.

First you need to find a tenant who is willing to swap their property. You can do this anywhere you like including through adverts in the local newspaper or shop windows but the easiest way is to visit the house exchange website, where you can find details of other people who have registered an interest in moving. Once you have found someone, you need to phone bpha and submit a request for a mutual exchange.

Both parties will then fill in a mutual exchange form. bpha must approve the exchange, but we will not unreasonably deny the request. Reasonable reasons for refusal include situations where the accommodation is substantially larger than is reasonable or either party is subject to a possession order.
