What is the Decent Homes standard?
A decent home is basically one that is wind and weather tight,
warm and has modern facilities. For more information about what
makes a decent home, please click

To ensure that bpha's properties all meet the
Decent Homes standard we have developed a new programme that is
running from 2006 - 2010. This is known as the Decent Homes Improvement
Programme.
Our programme is based on a stock condition survey that was carried
out in 2005. For more information, please click

How does the Decent Home standard affect
me as a tenant?
The Decent Homes standard ensures that all social housing tenants
have access to and should expect a minimum standard of housing.
Work to your home will focus on ensuring that it meets this minimum
standard, but you may have other priorities and these need to
be taken into account.
If you do not want work carried out to your home to bring it
up to the Decent Homes standard, then we can postpone the work
until you leave your home. The exception to this is where works
are required to maintain the structural integrity of your home
or to prevent it from deteriorating.
