If you are a leaseholder

Joint Lease

You have a joint lease if you brought your home with another adult and their name appears on the lease.

Each joint leaseholder is equally responsible for meeting the lease obligations. You can add or remove a leaseholder to the lease provided:

  • All existing leaseholders agree
  • You have bpha's permission and the permission of your mortgage lender

A solicitor must add or remove the leaseholder to the lease. It is your responsibility to pay the solicitor's fee.
