bpha has formed a partnership with Jarvis Contracting Ltd to build a 100% affordable housing development in the village of Lidlington in the Marston Vale.
With excellent transport links and in close proximity to the M1, the 40 home development will comprise of 12 affordable rent and 28 shared ownership homes, giving people an affordable option to get onto the housing ladder.
bpha, Land Manager, Matthew Berry, said
“Working alongside Avebury Architecture we have designed the apartments and houses to the look and feel of the village.
The building styles and materials used will mirror the existing homes in the area.”
To reflect the rural nature of the scheme, communal green open spaces to the south and north of the development will be created. Houses will also benefit from generous private garden spaces and in keeping with bpha’s commitment to the environment, secure cycle parking has been provided to the rear of the properties.
The homes will be constructed with a high level of water efficiency and 10% of the energy demand will come from renewable resources through photo voltaic panels.
Jarvis Contracting Ltd, CEO Mark Doyle, added
“We have been working alongside bpha on this project from a very early stage and are thrilled to be setting up for a start shortly.
This time will ensure that the design translates into an exceptional place for people to live and integrate with the local community.”
A start will be made on site in March 2022 with completion due in June 2023.
