Dozens of families will be sitting down to a healthy Christmas dinner next week after bpha joined forces with Tesco in Riverfield Drive, Bedford, to deliver 54 food hampers to those who are most in need.
Around 130 adults and 70 children across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Oxfordshire will benefit after being nominated to receive the hampers by bpha staff due to their personal and financial circumstances.
A traditional Christmas dinner
The hampers include everything a family needs to cook a traditional Christmas roast dinner and are being delivered by 25 bpha employees on Friday (22 December), including Chief Executive Kevin Bolt.
Offering help in difficult circumstances
When told they would receive a hamper, one bpha resident said: “Thank you so much for your kindness at what is a really difficult time for our family, this means we are able to have a proper family Christmas dinner, something we would otherwise not have been unable to do. We’re extremely grateful for the help and support you are giving us.”
Jim Playle, Community Development Officer at bpha, said: “It’s really great to be able to make a difference at this time of year especially and helping to ensure that these adults and children will be able to sit down to eat a healthy Christmas dinner because of this project.”
