If you live in a flat you are responsible for the inside of your home. If you own a house you are responsible for all the repairs and maintenance of your home.
bpha are responsible for carrying out repairs and general maintenance to the shared (communal) areas of your building or estate outside of your home, unless there is a separate managing company.
A shared owner is a leaseholder. This means you are the homeowner and the one responsible for the repairs. The repairing responsibilities are set out within the lease. The mortgage lender is also not responsible for the repairs to the property.
We want you to be proud of your home, and will do our best to keep it clean and in good repair.
