Always ask to see ID

1 September 2026

We're reminding customers to stay aware of people claiming to work on behalf of bpha and asking for payment for repairs or maintenance work.

To help keep yourself safe, it's important to remember that all bpha staff and contractors will always carry identification and will gladly show it when asked. Contractors working on behalf of bpha will never ask you for payment for repairs or maintenance work.

If someone arrives at your home claiming to represent bpha and you're not expecting a visit, don't feel pressured to let them in. Instead, contact us first so we can confirm whether the person is genuinely working on our behalf.

Checking identification is one of the simplest ways to protect yourself from scams. Genuine staff and contractors understand the importance of customer safety and will always be happy to show their ID before carrying out any work or discussing your tenancy.

If you have any concerns about someone claiming to represent bpha please contact us as soon as possible. We'll investigate and provide any support you may need.

Your safety is our priority. If you're ever unsure, always ask to see ID and contact us to verify who is at your door.
