bpha has published its 2025/26 Sustainability Report, highlighting progress across its environmental, social and governance priorities. The report covers the period from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026.
During the year, bpha continued to invest in the quality, safety and energy efficiency of its homes, while listening to customers and using data and insight to improve services and target resources more effectively.
More sustainable homes
bpha completed 444 new homes during 2025/26, part of the 92% of homes now at least meeting Band C.
The year also saw the completion of a £9.8 million improvement programme at Bury Court. Every home within the block now achieves at least EPC Band C, alongside improvements to fire safety, security and ventilation.
This work supports our commitment for all homes to achieve at least EPC Band C by 2030 and our longer-term ambition to reach net zero emissions by 2050.
Listening and responding to customers
We launched a refreshed Customer Strategy shaped through extensive engagement with customers, including its Service Improvement Panel.
In October 2025, The Big Listen saw colleagues hold nearly 1000 doorstep conversations across local communities. These generated 1,525 individual comments and more than 600 follow-up actions, informing improvements to repairs, communication and estate management. Thank you for the time you took as customers to share your thoughts.
With household budgets continuing to face pressure, community hubs, volunteering programmes and partnerships continued to provide support for customers.
Strong governance and a healthy culture
bpha retained the highest G1 governance and V1 financial viability gradings from the Regulator of Social Housing. We also achieved the highest possible C1 consumer grading, demonstrating that it meets the Regulator’s customer-focused standards and uses customer insight to improve its services.
bpha was also named among the Great Place to Work Top 100 Large Companies based on colleagues’ feedback. During the year, we launched People First, bringing payroll, recruitment and learning and development together in one integrated system.
Looking ahead, bpha will continue to use data and customer insight to make better decisions, and improve services where it is needed most. We will also maintain our focus on energy-efficient homes, resilient communities and achieving net zero by 2050.
