What does the bpha Allocations Policy mean for you?

If you want to move to a smaller home, we can help. bpha provides advice, support, and financial incentives of up to £2,500. Plus, we’ll cover removal costs and even offer a handyperson service to make your move easier.

Extra support

If you need additional support because of your current ability to carry out day-to-day tasks independently, we’re here for you. We’ll offer assistance in line with our Vulnerability Policy.

How are homes allocated?

Most homes are offered through local authority nomination agreements, but if a property isn’t allocated this way, it’s available for bpha customers who wish to move.

If you can no longer remain in your home, your application will be assessed and placed into a priority band according to the Allocations policy. New homes are let based on your priority band and how long you’ve been waiting.

We carry out a limited number of moves, so we recommend you continue to bid on homes through local authority choice-based lettings schemes to give yourself more options.

Quicker ways to move

Reviews and appeals

If you think your priority band doesn’t reflect your situation, or if you’ve been refused permission for a mutual exchange, you can ask us to review the decision. We’ll respond to review requests within 15 working days.
